The process for installing backsplash tile using adhesive tile mats is fairly straightforward. Comparing adhesive mat to thinset mortar for back splash relative to cost and ease of use. Simplemat is the quickest easiest and cleanest way to install tile on countertops and backsplashes. Simplemat bonds instantly so you can start grouting immediately.

Simplemat replaces traditional thin set mortar or mastic adhesive. Unroll the adhesive mat and cut it to fit the backsplash space using utility scissors or a utility knife. Since this was our first attempt at tiling i wanted to share our process for tiling a backsplash with tile mat and give you our simplemat review. The adhesive retains its bonding strength for extended periods of time which means users have the flexibility to tile onto the mat an hour at a time or over several days.
