Like most garbage disposal units the badger 1 has an opening at the bottom of its housing. If it won t stay pressed in try again after 10 minutes. If it does not stay in retracted wait ten minutes and try again. This prevents any electrical damage to the unit.

Press the red button on the underside of the inskinkerator. If the overload protector is tripped you will see the red button dropped down about a quarter of an inch 5mm. Turn on a cold stream of water and turn the disposal switch to on position the disposal should now run again. This is helpful if the disposal gets jammed.

Turn on the cold water faucet to allow water to flow into the disposal. To prevent the motor from burning out an internal breaker trips to shut off the unit. Push the reset button on the bottom of the disposal. This button drops out when the garbage disposal is overloaded.

Before you press it you have to clear the material clogging the impellers or the unit will just shut off again. Now like other garbage disposers you will experience some problems with the badger 1 along the way. If it does not stay up wait ten minutes and try again. To make sure that the unit lasts long you should know some troubleshooting tips that will keep it up and running.
