I would like to know if the handquilters who use w n have ever tried anything else.
Polys are usually quite easy to hq with.
Both tiny stitches and big stitches are okay.
Hobbs has many very soft fine nice batts the dream batts are also wonderful and those the poly cotton wool and silks are all just wonderful to stitch.
Some people like that.
Wool is an absolute dream to hand quilt with.
Batts without scrim are best for hand quilting the scrim is what makes it hard to stitch through.
Hand quilting joins the quilt top batting and backing layers.
For example cotton fibers needle punched with scrim will feel different from cotton fibers needle punched without scrim.

Pellon b 96 bamboo blend quilt batting needle punched makes hand quilting easy it will not stretch biodegradable softer than 100 cotton best for machine quilting.
Low loft batting is great for a flatter finish where you want to show off your piecing more than your quilting lines though if you are hand quilting choose low loft no matter how amazing your stitches are it s just easier go for higher loft if you want a nice puffy quilt with very visible quilting lines.
It is the traditional method for making sure that the batting or filling to a quilt didn t shift inside the top and the backing.
The hand of the batting is determined by the fiber used as well as the manufacturing processes.
Cotton batting does tend to put drag on the needle.
